When Tommy Callaway hit the behind of WSAV-TV journalist Alex Bozarjian, he probably never expected to be called out.
Alex Bozarjian was firm, candid, and strong by letting him know on Twitter that he violated, objectified and that he should do better.
Many quickly came to her defense and expressed appreciation for her courage on speaking out.
In his recent interview with Inside Edition, he offered the excuse, "I got caught up in the moment," and "I touched her back; I did not know exactly where I touched her."
What makes this story even more disturbing is that Tommy Callaway, 43, is married with two children. He runs a youth group at his church, as is a Boy Scout leader.
It concerns some that a man who sexually assaulted a woman on live television is in a leadership position and working closely with youths.
Legend Magazine reached out to the Coastal Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America and this was their statement.
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA):
“Upon learning of this incident, we immediately removed this individual and prohibited him from any future participation in our programs. This behavior runs counter to Scouting’s values and everything we teach our members about treating others with dignity and respect. The BSA takes this type of conduct very seriously and we always consider what is best for our youth members, staff and volunteers when making these decisions.”
